First licensed in February 1960, as KN4TSJ, while a student in junior high school in Norfolk, VA. Operated as a novice and upgraded to general within the required year. Remained active as K4TSJ until 1982 when an employment assignment meant Alaska for two years. During that period obtained the call AL7EL. Obtained K8XP while living in Michigan in 1997. Numerous employment assignments in the Federal Fire Service were in Washington, DC, Delta Junction Alaska, Aberdeen MD, Atlanta GA, and Watertown NY. Retired from the Federal Fire Service at the rank of Fire Chief with 30 years service in 1996. Now resides in Watkinsville, GA and provides consulting services to fire departments for operational readiness, organizational structure and fire origin and cause determination. Bob is an advisor to the NCDXF, for whom he designed and fabricated their
new beacon system.
Bob studied Electrical Engineering. He founded and lead the project that
produced Berkeley Unix at the University of California, where he worked as a
professor in Computer Science. He is now retired.

Michael was first licensed in 1966 at age 11, and has held N6MZ since 1977.
His previous calls were WN8TLH and WB8HZO. Michael is an avid CW DXer
and contester, but also uses SSB and the digital modes occasionally. Michael
enjoys building and experimenting, and has restored many tube-type "boatanchors,"
both amateur gear and commercial test equipment. He also enjoys modifying commercial amateur transceivers and published a QST article as a result of one of his many modifications to the ICOM IC-765. N6MZ also enjoys building and experimenting with antennas, and has field-tested several new antennas for Telex/Hy-Gain.
He is a life member of the ARRL, a DXCC member (still looking for his last
10 DXCC countries!), and a member of the Western Washington DX Club. Michael
received his BS degree in electrical engineering from Ohio State, where he was
very fortunate to work with and study under Dr. John Kraus, W8JK. Recently,
N6MZ was one of the VK0IR DXpedition team members; he has also operated
from FR5, FT5X, and SV5. When not chasing new ones, he loves sailing,
scuba diving, bicycling, cross-country skiing, and opera.

Currently serving as the EC for Ocean County, New Jersey (ARES). Trustee of the Ocean County RACES repeater 146.835 (835 User Group). Field Day Chairman for the Old Barney ARC.

Born in Sioux Falls, SD but reared in the Los Angeles area. First
licensed as K6BVN but after a period became inactive and license lapsed.
Renewed interest and became active as KI6AN in 1987 after retiring from
GTE Sylvania after 29 year career as an electrical engineer. Relocated
to Paradise, CA and commenced second career in electronics doing field
engineering work in the security field for Perimeter Products in
Mountain View, CA. Now fully retired. Five year U.S. Navy veteran
serving in the aviation electronics field. Outside interests include
golf, RVing and car racing.

phases of DX and DX related activities. Currently Northwestern
Division representative for ARRL DX Advisory Committee(DXAC). Operated
N7RO Outgoing QSL Bureau for 13 years until 1995. Managed QSLs for over
75 different stations since 1963. Avid contest operator both as single
operator and multi entries with station equipped with multiple towers
and radio positions. Also active in IOTA program. Employed by a
engineering company that designs and manufactures specialized
electronics for the logging industry and security equipment for banks
world-wide. Other hobbies include bowling, RVing and sprint cars.

First licensed in 1991 as ZR6TAA and upgraded to HF privileges in 1993
as ZS6RI. After relocation to Natal, Republic of South Africa obtained
ZS5IR and became active in Dxing and contesting with ZS6EZ. Operated
as 3DA0Z in 1994 and later as 3DA0/ZS6RI and C9/ZS5IR. Enjoys Dxing and
contesting. Serves as CW examiner and test moderator for the licensing
process.
Operated from Marion Island as ZS8IR from March 1996 to May 1997 on all
bands with special emphasis on 80 and 160 meters.
Trained as an Advanced Medical and Trauma Care Paramedic to provide
advanced life support medical treatment in remote areas where no
medical assistance is available. Most recently served as Medical
Officer on Marion Island, South Indian Ocean for the South African
Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism.
Other interests include running, yachting, photography and scuba
diving.
